EUGENE, Ore. -- (April 15, 2009) -- "Directed by Steven Spielberg," a University of Oregon film series that investigates Spielberg's influence as a director and producer on the film industry and culture, will begin Thursday, April 23, with "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," which was produced by Spielberg. A UO graduate student will give a short talk before each movie, contextualizing the film's place within Spielberg's filmmaking career and the history of film itself.
The film series schedule for spring term is:
• "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," April 23
• "The Goonies," April 30
• "Koi Mil Gaya," May 7
• "Munich," May 14
Movies start at 6 p.m. in Room 110 of Willamette Hall, 1371 East 13th Ave. The series, which is presented by the department of English, is free and open to the public.
