EUGENE, Ore. - (April 6, 2011) - The University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History will display more than 40 large-format photographs by wildlife photographer Steven Kazlowski in "The Last Polar Bear: Facing the Truth of a Warming World."
The exhibit will be on view in the MNCH Galleria from Friday, April 15 to Sunday, Aug. 28.
Kazlowski, who has worked on the exhibit for more than eight years, documents the impact of global warming on the Arctic ecosystem. The exhibit showcases the plight of the polar bear in the face of climate change, while offering practical and everyday suggestions for reducing impact on the environment.
The exhibit was developed by the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture in Seattle in collaboration with Braided River, the conservation publishing imprint of The Mountaineers Books. Kazlowski's photos have been featured in Audubon, Backpacking, Canadian National Geographic, National Wildlife and Time magazines.
