EUGENE, Ore. -- (July 25, 2011) - Tim Clevenger, the University of Oregon Alumni Association's executive director since April, has announced a pair of additions atop the organization that provides a connection to the university for more than 160,000 UO alumni around the world.
Uri Farkas was promoted last month to associate executive director for alumni engagement after serving since February 2008 as the association's associate executive director. Farkas will take lead on integrating the new Cheryl Ramberg Ford and Allyn Ford Alumni Center with the association's strategic vision. He will also be the strategic lead for the association's efforts to re-energize Portland-area alumni, Clevenger said.
Anthony McAdoo, who has served since 2006 as senior director of the alumni association at University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, also has been hired as the association's senior associate executive director for alumni relations and strategic development. McAdoo will work on integrating the association's technology, along with assisting in alumni engagement and creating sustainable revenue streams, when he joins the UO Aug. 15.
"(The alumni center) is a significant game-changer for the UOAA, and is a pivotal element in advancing a vision of a relevant, engaging, dynamic (alumni association)," Clevenger told association backers in announcing the new positions for Farkas and McAdoo. "I have been extremely impressed with Uri's contribution to the UOAA. This promotion will allow him to focus his skills on this new asset, as well as more strategic areas of benefit for the association in his continued senior position with our organization.
"We are elevating the UOAA to a new level of excellence and engagement. I am proud of our team, and excited about these changes because we now have the depth in our senior team to allow each person to focus on broad, key initiatives which will advance this new vision of the UOAA and propel us into a new, dynamic direction," Clevenger said.
McAdoo received his bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees at the University of Arkansas, where he has worked in a succession of positions since 2001.
Farkas received his bachelor's degree from the University of Montana and his master's degree in sports management from The Ohio State University. He worked in the UO's Services for Student Athletes Department from 2000 to 2006, first as an academic advisor and then as associate director. He served as a vice president for Reliance Development in the Portland area for a year and a half, then joined the UO Alumni Association in February 2008.
