EUGENE, Ore. -- (Aug. 21, 2012) – Two national rankings of colleges and universities give high marks to the University of Oregon today with their annual report cards.

Campus Pride included UO in its Top 25 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) friendly colleges and universities. The list is based on data from the Campus Pride Index , which rates colleges and universities based on LGBT-friendly policies, programs and practices. The UO has consistently placed at the top of the rankings since the index’s formation in 2007.

In addition, The Princeton Review (no affiliation with Princeton University) includes UO in the 2013 edition of its annual college guide, "The Best 377 Colleges." The Review includes 62 ranking lists of "top 20" colleges in various categories. The lists are based entirely on The Princeton Review's survey of students attending the institutions.

According to the Princeton Review, University of Oregon students who responded to the survey indicated that they feel it is “a perfect place for someone seeking a well-rounded liberal arts post-secondary education,” a school that has “all of the creative perks of a small learning environment with all of the excitement of a big school.”

Business, architecture, ecology, international studies and political science all were cited as top programs by students surveyed, along with journalism as a “crown jewel” of UO’s academic programs.
