EUGENE, Ore. — (Oct. 30, 2013) — Just a month after being ranked ninth worldwide for sustainability by Corporate Knights, the graduate programs at the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business were ranked No. 8 internationally for sustainability in Net Impact’s “Business as UNusual: The Student Guide to Graduate Programs 2013.”
The Lundquist College’s Oregon MBA program was cited for its sustainable business track, which is facilitated by the Center for Sustainable Businesses Practices as part of the Business Innovation Institute. Housed in one of the most environmentally friendly business school facilities in the nation, students apply classroom concepts to real business situations in preparation for leadership roles in sustainable enterprises.
The Lundquist College of Business Career Services Office also supports career opportunities for students interested in sustainable business and corporate and social responsibility-related jobs.
Launched in 2006, the “Business as UNusual” rankings were based on a written questionnaire completed by Net Impact chapter leaders from participating programs and an online survey completed by more than 3,300 students. From the more than 100 participating universities worldwide, Net Impact ranked the top 20 programs for both sustainability and social impact.
In addition to its sustainability ranking, the University of Oregon Net Impact chapter was listed as a gold chapter for its outstanding members, leaders and programming. The UO chapter was also noted for its interdisciplinary interactions with sustainability-focused student groups in the schools of law, architecture and planning, and public policy and management.
Net Impact is a nonprofit organization that empowers a new generation to use their careers to drive transformational change in the workplace and the world.
