EUGENE, Ore. – (June 27, 2013) – The UO theatre arts department’s Mad Duckling Children’s Theatre announces the Golden Summer Season returning to Amazon Park in July and August.
Performances include “Rumpelstiltskin Revisited” by Guy J. Jackson, and “King Midas and the Golden Touch” by Willard Simms.
“Rumpelstiltskin Revisited” runs July 9 through July 13, and July 16 through July 20, with performances at 11 a.m. in Amazon Park.
“King Midas and the Golden Touch” runs July 30 through Aug. 3, and Aug. 6 through Aug. 10, with performances at 11 a.m. in Amazon Park.
Performances on Saturday, July 13, and Saturday, Aug. 3, will be followed by an informal “Lunch with the Characters.” The audience is invited to bring a picnic lunch and stay after the show for conversation with the performers.
Tickets for Mad Duckling performances are $5 for ages 3 and up and can be purchased from the box office starting at 10:30 a.m. on the day of each performance. Children under age 3 are free.
Ticket discounts are available for groups of 10 people or more. Larger groups should email madduckling@uoregon.edu or call 541-346-4204 in advance.
Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets or pillows for lawn seating. Light snacks will be available for purchase.
Mad Ducking Children’s Theatre plays are produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service Inc., Englewood, Colo; in association with the University of Oregon Department of Theatre Arts and in partnership with City of Eugene Recreation Services.
