UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History hosts a Masquerade Family Day

EUGENE, Ore. -- (Oct. 18, 2011) -- -- The UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History will host its fall family day, "Masquerade Family Day," from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the museum, 1680 E. 15th Ave.

Admission is $5 per family or free for MNCH members. Year-long memberships are offered at half price on family days.

During the event visitors can join in an "I Spy with Doc Bones" scavenger hunt, explore the exhibit "Oregon - Where Past is Present," learn about masks in "Face to Face With Masks from the Museum Collections," and make one's own mask.

Visitors can also wear a new mask or bring one from home and participate in the MNCH Masquerade Parade beginning at 3 p.m.

Live music will be performed by local musician Rich Glauber from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

About the Museum of Natural and Cultural History
The UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and youths ages 17 and under, and $8 for families (two adults and up to four youths). Museum members are admitted free. Admission is free to the public each Wednesday. Guided tours are offered each Friday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
