EUGENE, Ore. -- (Oct. 19, 2009) -- What are the prospects for international climate agreements? What can be done if the political process stalls? Can law or science lead the way? What is the role of activists?
Three scholars closely involved with climate change policy will address these issues and others in a roundtable discussion on Thursday, Oct. 22, titled “Climate Policy: What if Politics Fails Us?” The free lecture starts at 4:30 p.m. in room 110 of the Knight Law Center, 1515 Agate St.
Jim McCarthy is a Harvard University climate scientist who was co-chair of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Dale Jamieson is the 2009-10 Wayne Morse Chair of Law and Politics. He is a professor of philosophy and environmental studies at New York University.
