This month's speaker: Terry Steele

The Birds and Other Wildlife of the American West
Terry Steele, of Creation Images, Corvallis

Terry Steele's presentation "The Nature Photographer" will put you "up close and personal" with some of the West's most interesting and unusual creatures. Follow him as he photographs nature from the Canadian border to Mexico and from the Oregon Coast to the Gulf Coast.

Terry is well known not only for the quality of his photography but also for his gift of weaving his slide shows with humor and suspense into spellbinding stories. He will put you eyeball to eyeball with rattlesnakes and tell tales of his encounters with grizzly bears and raging bull moose in the rut, as well as creatures shy and non-threatening.

Steele spent most of his life in the upper John Day Valley in northeastern Oregon. After a lifetime of extracting from nature as a hunter, trapper and logger, he was able to change his vision to a non-consumptive use. He hopes to inspire people from all walks of life to consider the struggles of wild creatures to survive as wild places continue to vanish.
