The Eugene Natural History Society Board has decided it is time to adopt an official logo. We have had a nice shell pattern for our arm patches, but that was (if memory serves correctly) only for the arm patch and not for an official logo. We would like to have something that more closely identifies the interests and focus of the ENHS. One idea is to have something that incorporates the outline of Spencer Butte as one drives down the valley from the north. It is a distinctive outline that any local will recognize. Do you have any other ideas? We expect that we will eventually have a logo contest, with prizes and trumpet fanfares. The first stage, where we are now, is to talk about ideas. If you have a logo idea, discuss it with a member of the board at one of the meetings or write to us. Drawings or sketches are encouraged. |
Willow Creek Preserve Ed Alverson, the Willow Creek Preserve manager, has sent us a letter soliciting volunteers to a.) help with habitat restoration and b.) participate in site monitoring. The work parties, from brush flogging to collecting seeds for habitat restoration, take place the second Saturday of each month. Bring work gloves and brush cutting tools if available. The monitoring activities will be set up according to the schedule of volunteers. For more information, contact Ed at 682-5586. |
If your address label has a red circle around the date, you are in jeopardy of being dropped from the rolls! Please send in dues, or check with Herb (344-3634) if there's a problem. Use this form. |
