North American Butterfly Association

Lots of us have planted those butterfly plants but how intimately do we know who's visiting them? Would our often intricately decorated friends visit earlier or stay longer if we offered a more native habitat, or should we plant a greater diversity of exotics to attract more species? Could we take a nearby walk and explore an awakening meadow and discover Fender's blue? If you're interested in expanding your knowledge of Lepidoptera, you might consider joining the newly organized chapter of the North American Butterfly Association. Their next meeting is Monday, December 4, in Room 21 of Jefferson Middle School. You can also contact the President, Eric Wold, 431-7388, for additional information.
