FUARCH: why is this place saying such rude things?
Places can evoke strong emotions. We react viscerally to some kinds of places, both loving and hating. In this exercise, we are going to explore why we don't like some places.
- Find a place on campus, indoors or out, that you immediately, really don't like, on a gut level (because of design issues, not because of personal associations, like "my arch-enemy Bob lives there").
Locate it on a map.
Claim it by sending a message to campusdesign@lists.uoregon.edu describing where it is. [no later than Friday noon]
Write and send to the list short essay (no more than 200 words) telling the rest of us precisely why you don't like this place. Try to be specific. What in particular irritates you? [no later than Monday Oct. 14, 8 p.m.]
Questions? Send them to the list, not to me personally.
