创世纪一章二节希伯来文问题 by David Wu
这个问题困扰我有一段时间了.... 今天狠下心来花时间做research.... 但是因为不会希伯来文, 还是不太确定, 所以提出来问问....
创世纪一章二节说(中文恢復本) "而地变为荒废空虚...."
英文恢復本说, "But the earth became waste and emptiness..."
我查了concordance, "became" 的Strong's number是01961, 大部分版本翻成was,
恢復本照字典翻成became是很准的。
不过我在查"而地变为荒废空虚"的"而"的时候, 因为不会希伯来文所以还是搞不太清楚....
在原文里, "而" 跟 "地" 两个字不是分开的.... "而" 是 "地" 的字首. 希伯来文是长这样子的:

我照原文查"而地", 发现"而地" 在旧约出现38次. 其中有两次"而地"的"而"是翻为"but" (申11:11, 结14:16),
其余36次不是翻成"and"就是没翻出来。
我想
大概是连接词. 好像非常常用, 常放在名词前面, 但好像有时翻"but", 有时翻"and", 有时不翻出来。
请问这个连接词通常是依照上下文而决定怎么翻的吗? 我问这个是因为创1:2, 赛45:18, 伯38:4-7, 和伯9:5-7
这几节应该是创1:2b之后是神的復造和生命的纪录的重要证据..... 所以想把它搞清楚。
简单介绍一下希伯来文。这个古老的文字只有22个字母，都是子音。你所看见在字母底下的记号乃是后人大约在十二世纪时，为了叫失散的以色列人不忘记他们本国的语言，也为着统一发音而发明的母音，于原文中没有的。这语言是从右往左写的，与一般拼音语言的写法不同。所以，希伯来文第一个字母是在一行字的最右边。
你所举的创世记 1:2一开始的第一个字母
乃是一个连结词，是和英文中的and或but相同的连结词，这个连结词的被使用是相当的普遍，所以有许多繙译者在一些地方就干脆不繙，而究竟要怎么繙，都看繙译者要如何来解释。
在创世记
1:2在这个连结词之后，第二个字母，像两根柱子，左边没有连结起来的
，这是定冠词，如同英文中的the，特别是加在一些专有名词上，像太阳、地球、山等字前面。
然后，后面的三个字母乃是『地』的意思。
底下是一些较为着名的英文圣经所繙的创世记1:2，你可以看见，因为
这个连结词一再地被使用，所以，英文中一再地有and的出现。但是中文繙译却都将它略去不繙。NIV
则将这一节第一个连结词繙成了now，第二个连结词省略不繙，第三个就繙成and。
可是要记得，英文中的and可以是：前后一样意思或对等名词的『和』、『及』，但也可是不相同的『而』或『且』，也可是没有意义的语意，如同我们中国人在讲话时，一边思考时一边讲，就有『这个…这个』的出现。所以，也有繙译者就不繙这个连结词了。
