This space is not well-designed for the stack effect, especially in an Oregon fall.

• Thermal masses of staircases and walls reduce the stack effect, since they tend to moderate temperature differences.
• The glazing is both thin and leaky.

To work as stacks spaces have to be designed for the stack effect

• Better insulated
• Minimal thermal mass or most thermal mass insulated.
