where "t" stands for tangential and "p" stands for perpendicular.
19. Show that the fraction of light forming the primary bow of a rainbow is
(1-R)2R where R is the reflectivity. Evaluate this expression for
each polarization at the primary-bow angle. What is the absolute maximum
this fraction can reach? Repeat the calculations for the secondary bow where
the corresponding fraction is (1-R)2R2
