Direct sun is kept off work surfaces
Lightshelves intercept most of the sun that comes through the trellis. The clerestory sunlight plays on the central ductwork, and is diffused to workers below.
Lightshelves are a kind of ‰gRobin Hood‰h as they take from the rich (nearest the window) and give to the poor (farther away).
