Lesbopalooza is an annual event organized by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Alliance at the University of Oregon for "women and women-identified performers." While the event is by nature aimed at a lesbian audience, LGBTQA's event coordinator, Cat McGraw, said there is no intent to exclude any part of the community. Lesbopalooza is a rallying point for the lesbian community, but it can also just be about good music and different people. "I think it's a really good venue to see non-commercial music -- the non-KDUK crowd," McGraw said. This year boasted nine bands and other performers spread over three nights at the WOW Hall. Headliners from across the country include Shelley Doty and X-Tet, Arjuna Griest, Chris Pureka, Tribe 8, God-Des, and Aisha Ayers. |
