Belegarth Rules

So, you wanna just throw on some chainmail, pick up an axe and split some mangy cur's head in twain, do you? Hold on there, Smokey. This is not 'Nam, this is Belegarth. There are rules.

There are five different classifications of weapons allowed. One-handed swinging weapons such as swords and flails, two-handed swinging weapons, thrusting weapons such as spears, javelins, and even crossbows. There are strict weight and length requirements for making each weapon. Only certain weapon armaments are allowed.

Injury is determined by where and how many times you are hit. One or more hits to any of the acceptable target areas (arms, legs, body) disable that area. Headshots are allowed in some instances. A disabled body results in death. Crippled and gimpy players can play on through the round but are not allowed to use the injured area for the remainder of the round.

Armor and shields are allowed. Shield must be strapped on and can be destroyed after two strong hits from two-handed weapons. Armor confers one additional hit to the armored area.

There is occasionally a marshal to enforce rules and inspect weapons. Otherwise, combatants are on the honor code.
