This is an attempt to create a very simple HTML document. Very simple is coded to show in italic. For emphasis, you can code words as bold. There are other display capabilities as well.
It has the following features:
The following are the headline sizes available. Largest is H1. Smallest is H6. In general, codes are input as angle-bracketed start and end commands. The start command for a headline of the largest size is <H1>. The ending command is </H1>. These paired commands serve as containers for text to be displayed in a given size or mode.
This is the size used to display text. The following hyperlink is a reference that will bring you back to the top of this file. Hyperlinks can be used to move you around within a document or to link up with documents stored in other places on the internet.
You can create an HTML document in your word processor, but you need to save it in ASCII (as a DOS TEXT file in DOS or WINDOWS word processors).
Section links such as this can be used to create a document with chapters or sections or subchapters or subsections.

I lied at the top. It does have a picture. The following is a
reference to a JPEG image, which is in the same directory as this
file.Swimmers
I lied again. It has a link to an image called a .GIF file.
The mouse is an image that is in sitting on another fileserver. By
putting its address (its URL) in with the appropriate code for an
image, I can make the mouse appear here too.
Here is some additional text. I'm trying to write enough so that
the mouse will appear in its entirety while aligned at the right
side of the screen. I probably need more. This should be just about
enough, but for good measure, I'll add a few more words. There.
This is the end of the file.
