Ida described his "descended triangle" as the "idea of penetrating beneath the surface, be it in a vertical or horizontal position." His use of simple geometric forms—descended triangle, circle and square—has been connected with the Kali yantra, a geometric abstraction of the Hindu goddess Kali. Ida's fingerprints, a reminder of the artist's hand, are visible at the bottom of the print.
