Source: A Dictionary of Japanese Artists: Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Prints, Lacquer, Laurance P. Roberts, Weatherhill, 1976, p. 44.
Little information is available in the literature about this Osaka artist.  According to Roberts, Hironubo II, born Hirokuni, was a pupil of Kinoshita Hironobu I (1826? - c. 1865) whose name he assumed.  He used the  Ashimi, Hakuho, and Ryuto.  He goes on to say that "his work received favorable mention at the Naikoku Kaiga Kyoshinkai (National Painting Competition) in 1884."
