The other head temple is Nishi Honganji, the western temple, which true to its name is located a few blocks to the west of this one.

The grandest gate on the temple grounds is the Goeido-mon, the Founder’s Hall Gate which was completed in 1911. This gate has two stories and two roofs and is approximately 28 meters (92 feet) in height.
