About This Print
It is difficult to tell whether Maekawa's print of what I believe to be the old road, Route 16, up to Mount Akagi is a woodblock print, as no printing artifacts associated with woodblock printing can be seen on either side of the print. It may, however, be a machine printed (press printed) woodblock print. While it likely no longer stands today, the torii pictured on the print may have demarked an entrance to the Shinto shrine on the mountain.
