About This Print
As stated in the artist's biography on this site, little is known about the production of woodblock prints from Miyake's drawings, although it is likely he worked closely with the carver and printer who executed the finished prints. Â This small untitled print, as with his other two prints in this collection, may have appeared in one of the many journals of the period or as illustrations for a novel. Â Whether this impressionistic view of a canal with what maybe a farmhouse in the distance is a scene from Europe or his native Japan is unknown.Print Details
