About This Print
A smaller size (sheet size, approx. 10 x 12 in. vs. 16 x 20 in.) than many of Miyata's prints, Shiga Kōgen Hasuike, was likely issued as part of a set of prints depicting a particular area of Japan, possibly Nagano Prefecture 長野県 in the Chūbu region of the main island of Honshū. Shiga Kōgen Hasuike is a highland area in Yamanouchi town in the northern region of Nagano Prefecture and part of the Joshinetsu Kōgen National Park.Shiga Kōgen was host to some of the events of the Nagano Winter Olympics in 1998. Nagano Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of the main island of Honshu.
