 Japanese Color Woodblock Print

Denizen of the Lake Depths

by Shinagawa Takumi, c. 1957

IHL Cat. #893

About This Print

A beautiful overlay of colors make up this under water view of a black sea creature swimming through a maze of colorful formations.  At first I imagined that Shinagawa used paper blocks for much of this print, but the edition size of 100 speaks against this.
