A priest from the shrine in Muro in Harima province makes a pilgrimage to the sister shrine of Kamo Myōjin and there sees a white-feathered arrow set up beside the river. He learns from a woman who, with a companion, comes there to draw water, that when long ago a woman of the Hata family picked up such an arrow floating in the river and carried it home, she miraculously conceived and gave birth to a son. The child was the god Wake-ikazuchi and he, his mother and the arrow are now revered as the three gods of the Kamo Shrine. Telling the priest that she is one of these gods, the woman disappears with her companion. Later the goddess and her son Wake-ikazuchi come forth to dance and promise to protect the land and its people.
