The Play - Seiganji

Act 1: waki -the priest Ippen Shōnin; waki-tsure - two attendant priests; shite - a village woman; kyōgen - a local person
Act 2: nochi-shite - the spirit of Izumi Shikibu
Ippen Shōnin visits the Seigan-ji in Kyōto, and there talks with a woman about Buddhist teachings. Just before she disappears she reveals that she is the poetess Izumi Shikibu whose grave is in the temple. In the second half she appears as a goddess of song and dance and entertains the priest.
