In 1992, when I had chickenpox, exposure prevention was nonexistent. The thinking was that kids were going to get it, so they might as well get it over with.

The vaccine was released in 1995. Had public health been less cavalier, I might not be vulnerable to shingles for life.

We know that even COVID cases with mild or no symptoms can lead to long-term cardiovascular complications.

Children under 5 are still not eligible for the vaccine.

My campus is dropping its mask mandate 3/18.

I will be teaching 70 students and coming home to a 2-year-old.
