- remove the capillaries from the bulkhead (where the sample gas enters the gasbench) and the Valco. - open screws at both ends of the plastic liner with two wrenches. One holds the liner in place (larger) and the other opens the nut (smaller). For that I cut ("shortened”) the larger wrench so that you do not run into trouble with all the other stuff in your way inside the GB. - pull out the entire thing (nafion with capillaries at both ends) - You might use new capillaries (0.32ID, 0.44OD standard FS) - cut a piece of nafion of about roughly the correct length (around 20cm, I guess). I use a razor blade. - put in methanol and push over the ends of the capillaries for about 1cm or so. Wait. - Put back into the plastic liner and fix the ferrule at one end - Pull slightly on the other and fix other ferrule. Easier with 3 hands. - reconnect to bulkhead and Valco.
