So a four-port valve must be precisely aligned with the actuator for proper operation.

If you need only four ports, but can live with the dead volume created by jumping two adjacent ports on a six-port valve, get the six-port valve. Thereby allowing slop in alignment, and fewer headaches in proper pneumatic operation.
