Description
The image shows the fluorescence emission from a lipid membrane with membrane-anchored polymers assembled on a terraced substrate that enables the use of "fluorescence interference contrast microscopy," a technique by which the interference of light from fluorophores with its reflection from a substrate can yield nanometer-scale topographic information. The colors are due to different interference patterns from emission from red lipid-conjugated probes and green polymer-conjugated probes. The image width is about 200 microns.
