Writing accents on the Macintosh is the same regardless of which Word Processor you use. In order to get Spanish characters on a Mac you do the following:
First, hold down the "Option" key (located on the bottom row of your keyboard) and then press the "e" key. Nothing will happen (yet). Then, release these keys and press the letter you want accented. The accented letter will now appear on your screen. This technique works for the five lower-case vowels illustrated below.
See if you can type these accents by clicking in the text box to the right of the Spanish words in the center column and then typing each word using the key combinations given on the left.
If you make a mistake click on the "Clear typing boxes" button to start over. When you have finished all five examples, click on the blue arrow to go to the next page of the tutorial.
