Bipolar Flows from Potostars
Protostars go through a stage with a strong stellar wind, which
blows gas out into space. The gas typically goes out through the
holes in the gas disk around the star. Where the jets hit gas
clouds, they make the clouds glow. (The bright nebula is then
called a Herbig-Haro object.)
