Density of the Sun

Density is just

density = mass / volume

The density of water is 1000 kg/m3.

We know the radius of the sun, so we can compute its volume. We know the mass of the Sun. So we divide to get its density:

density ~1400 kg/m3

This is denser than water, a lot less dense than rock. But certainly much more dense than the air in this room. Gravity has compressed the gas in the Sun.
