Terminology used in Energy issues needs to be defined and experienced. For Example

• What is a Watt? (Measurement of Power or Energy?)
• Difference Between Power and Energy?
• What is the Power Rating of a Human Being?
• What is a BTU?
• What is a calorie?
• Is heat a form pf power or energy?
• How is thermal energy transported?

Questions like this will be addressed during the first part of this course.

Part II. Background of Energy Sources.

• Brief History of Energy development and Useage
• Overview of Alternative Energy Sources

Part III. Solar Energy Applications: Heating

• Information about the Sun
• Passive Solar
• Active Solar

Part IV Generating Electricity

• Physics Background about Electricity
• Solar Power Generation Plants
• Photovoltaics
