Using Avaya Telephone Features
Priority Calling/Call Waiting to Answer
The Priority Calling feature allows the user to signal a telephone extension that is busy which reduces the chances of a busy telephone missing an important call. The Call Waiting to Answer feature provides a short series of beeps heard by the extension that is busy and the user calling the busy extension will hear a distorted ring. Advantages include:
- Identifies an important call that the called party might otherwise let go unanswered or let go to a covering user.
- Can not follow any coverage path. Will ring continuously until answered.
- Overrides the Send All Calls feature, but NOT the Call Forwarding feature.
- Priority Calling is established by use of:
- PAD (priority abbreviated dialing) button on a digital telephone set.
- Group Dialing List.
