Grading Criteria:

Please Note:

As with all assignments in the class, we will be evaluating this assignment using three general criteria:

--Are all the required parts of the assignment completed?

--Is the assignment free of spelling and grammatical errors?

--Does the assignment represent the highest quality work?

The most important of the three criteria is the measure of quality. In measuring quality we will be placing the greatest weight on your discussion of the value of the work to your research and its relation to other annotations.

  • Only those assignment that meet the first two criteria and are superior in quality will receive a grade of "A."

  • If the assignment is superior, but it contains spelling or grammar errors and all parts are complete, then the highest grade possible will be a "B+."

  • If the assignment is of average quality and meets the first two criteria, the highest possible grade will be a "B."

  • If the assignment is of average quality and fails to meet one or both of the first two criteria, the highest possible grade will be a "B-."

  • If the assignment is of below average quality and meets the first two criteria, the highest possible grade will be a "C."

  • If the assignment is of below average quality and fails to meet one or both of the first two criteria, the highest possible grade will be a "C-."
