Dear Senate Rules Committee.

I have received notice of motion from Senator Zach Stark-MacMillan for a motion relating to the River Front Research Park. The motion is posted on the web http://www.uoregon.edu/~uosenate/dirsen090/US090-11.html I have taken the liberty of rewriting just a bit the document that Zach sent me to put things in a more standard format. Since what is being asked for is the "strong opposition" by the UO Senate, there does not seem to be any significant financial impact.

I should be most grateful if you could take a look at the motion and, if needed, work with the maker of the motion to improve the wording, if such improvements are in fact necessary. I have scheduled action on the motion for the 13 January 2010 meeting of the UO Senate.

As always, thank you very much for your endeavors in making our system of shared governance work.

Respectfully submitted

Peter B Gilkey
President (2009/10) UO Senate.
