The Spread of Slavery, 1790–1860 Um 1800 gab es 800,000 Sklaven vor allen in nur vier von den Südstaaten. Um 1840 gab es 2.5 million Sklaven, aber jetzt verteilt über alle Südstaaten; 1869 gab es 3.9 millionen.
