Office hours for Fall Quarter TBA, BY APPT.

### Winter 2017: Math 256 ODE.

MWF. 8:00 - 8:50. 175 Lillis
Textbook: Officially Boyce di Prima. 10th edition. This is a pricey book- If I were you I would find an older one : ODE is not a rapidly evolving subject. Office hours will be 2-3 pm Tuesday and 10 -11 am Thursday. I will be available by appointment or drop-in many other times. If youre a high school student who needs added to the class, email me your student ID and what prerequisites you have met.

### Fall 2015: Math 607, Mean Curvature Flow.

MWF. 10:00 - 10:50, DEADY 210.
We will be using Carlos Mantegazzas book. This is available to Download here with UO credentials. In this course we will introduce and study Mean Curvature Flow. Our goal will be to come a working understanding of tools used in research in mean curvature flow, including maximum principle arguments, monotonicity arguments, and blow-up argument. The main text will be the book "Lecture Notes on Mean Curvature Flow" by Mantegazza. We hope to get through this text during the quarter.
I will occasionally assign exercises which will be turned in, so I can evaluate them. Participation and these assignments will be the basis for grading the course. These are strongly encouraged as and understanding of the underlying material will be necessary for the understanding the lectures.
Office hours will be 2-3 pm Tuesday and 10 -11 am Thursday. These are also my office hours for an undergraduate course, but I will be available by appointment or drop-in many other times.
