payroll: Student Pay Increases Above the Minimum Wage
Reminder: Please submit any student wage increases to Payroll ASAP to
ensure processing for January time entry. Use one of the following
methods to increase a pay rate above the new minimum wage or to give a pay
increase to any student already earning more than $8.40 per hour.
1) Submit a Student Employment Form (SEF) for each student employee.
2) Print out a PWIPAYR student roster, and indicate the effective date and
new pay rates on the roster. Please sign and date the roster before
sending to Payroll.
3) Create an Excel spreadsheet that includes the student's name, ID
number, position, suffix, and new pay rate. Indicate the effective date,
and please sign and date the spreadsheet before sending to Payroll. To
expedite, you may email the spreadsheet and follow with a signed hard copy
via campus mail.
Keep in mind that student employees earning less than the new minimum wage
will automatically have their pay rates increased to $8.40. For these
students, you will have two time sheets during January time entry, one at
the old rate and one at the new minimum wage.
