payroll: Oregon State Tax Tables
Yesterday's 2011 Payroll Updates email has prompted a number of questions
about the statement that the "State of Oregon is phasing out the full
subtraction of federal taxes withheld for employees who have annual wages
above $50,000."
Basically, the tax table formulas have been adjusted so that more taxes
will be withheld for employees with wages over $50,000 per year.
The computation is very complicated, more than in prior years. The phase
out uses a graduated table with a second set of graduated income brackets.
This permits a computation prior to starting the formula for the tax
calculation.
The following is the link to the Oregon Withholding Tax Formulas:

The UO uses the annual formulas.

Thanks very much.
