payroll: Questions About PAYNEWS

In answer to several questions within the past few minutes:

Q.  Was the 2011 Payroll Updates email sent to all employees or just the 
payroll coordinators?

A.  It was sent to all employees who were paid in December.

Normally, PAYNEWS is only sent to the payroll coordinators and others who 
have chosen to subscribe to the list.  Every January, and at other times 
as needed, we use PAYNEWS as the sender of information from the Payroll 
Office directly to employees.

My email of the other day asked all of you (as payroll coordinators) to 
help get out the word that occasionally the Payroll Office does send out 
information directly to employees or targeted groups of employees.

In previous years we put a flyer in the December earnings statement. 
However, with the advent of the earnings statement being available on 
DuckWeb, we chose to go to email since not everyone was receiving a 
printed earnings statement in a sealed envelope and we would miss 
reaching part of our audience.
