payroll: SEIU Contract Implementation & Updates
A message from Randy Wardlow, Human Resources
October 14 is rapidly approaching, the date we will learn the outcome
of the SEIU membership ratification vote on the new contract. I am
sure many of you have heard multiple variations of what is or is not
changing in the contract and how the changes will be implemented and
managed. We are here to help!
The planning to ensure the anticipated implementation is as smooth as
possible is moving along rapidly. We are in the process of publishing
a summary of contract changes, FAQ.s, and Mandatory Unpaid Leave
(Furlough) information on the Human Resources website. The Payroll
Department staff has developed reports based on the information in
Banner to determine the number of furlough hours each classified
employee must take. This information will be made available as soon as
possible. It is important that you review the FTE and salary
information for your classified staff in Banner to ensure it is
accurate as this will also affect the health care premium subsidy
payment for those earning less than $2816 per month.
Human Resources and Payroll staff will be presenting an overview of
the contract changes, FAQ.s and leave implementation during the week
of October 17. The schedule for these meetings is as
follows:
Wednesday,Oct. 19, 2:00 . 3:30 Gumwood Room, EMU
Thursday, Oct. 20, 9:00 - 10:30 Fir Rm, EMU
Space will be limited so please register for one of the sessions at the
following link:
http://odt.uoregon.edu/registration/course_view.php?crse_id=296
If we find demand is high we will either expand the size of the
groups or schedule another session. If you have questions or concerns
that need to be answered prior to these meeting dates you may, as
always, contact me directly at x62965 or via e-mail
at rwardlow@uoregon.edu.
Thank you for your patience as we work through these changes.
