TRYOUT INFO: No previous
trained dance experience is required; however, dance ability will
be vital to the tryout. Also, no technical dance elements will be
required (i.e. leaps, splits, etc...), but technical dance elements or
tricks such as tumbling, stalls and other break dancing is welcomed! An
individually choreographed routine is not mandatory, but
highly encouraged during the tryout. Max time for this is 1
minute. Bring a CD or iPod with your song to tryouts.
On
the final day of tryouts, which is the third day, the dancer(s) will be
evaluated by a panel of judges. The
dancer(s) will be judged on dance ability, showmanship, team work and
their tryout application.
Members
of the Jam Squad have the duty and responsibility of coming to all
practices, meetings, and performances. While
on the team,
members will also be given the equal opportunity to choreograph
routines and help in the design of the performance with suggestions of
music, formations, and uniforms. Members are also given the equal
opportunity to address the team of concerns, ideas and/or requests.
The Jam Squad is NOT an all-girls team. Women AND men are both welcome to tryout.
