SURVEY on... Climate change programs (mail version)

Abstract

One instance of the mail survey involving choice experiments concerning climate change programs. This mail survey was fielded weekly, for 50 weeks, with 200 surveys sent out each week, because we wished to learn whether current events (e.g., weather) had any distinguishable effects on climate policy preferences. Each survey contained just a single choice task between a specified climate change prevention program and business as usual. Each survey was printed in booklet form on 11x17-inch paper, with randomized choice tasks. Some additional optional information about climate change was sealed inside the center two pages and respondents were instructed either to break the seal and read the information. Or, if they chose, they could just leave the information sealed when they returned the survey. The decision to avail themselves of additional information before choosing their preferred climate policy was one behavior we were interested in modeling.
