"My
approach to composition has been, and continues to be, predominantly
intuitive in nature. Invariably, I experience the
conceptualization and ultimate realization of my music as a nonlinear
and rather mysterious process. I like to think of composing as a
continual journey toward self-discovery. I am not nearly as interested
in a purely cerebral approach that ignores or obscures the emotional
impulses that, in my view, are the genesis of successful art.
