"Truffles around the World-Especially Oregon." The Cascade Mycological Society proudly invites all to a presentation by world renowned truffle authority, Professor James Trappe. His show brings us decades of field research and wit. Professor Trappe is one of the true pioneers of the rhizosphere. Lane Community College Main Campus, Forum bldg. Rm. 308. Sunday, December 21, 2-3:30 PM.
Winter Solstice Nature Readings. Join this gathering of nature and literature lovers in honoring the solstice and sharing the beauty of the written word. Daniel Ray will facilitate this event and share nature-inspired classical music pieces between readings. Participants are invited to bring nature-inspired writings by their favorite authors and poets. Reading will be in a cozy setting with hot cider and good company. Suggested donation: $2. Meet at the Arboretum Visitor Center.

Saturday, January 10, 10 AM-Noon.
Winter Twigs Walk. Botanizing in winter means looking closely and appreciating the details in nature's design. Join Gail Baker, Lane Community College botany instructor, on a morning walk and learn to identify the trees and shrubs of Mount Pisgah Arboretum without their characteristic leaves. Bring a hand lens if you have one and be prepared to come away with new skills! Meet at the Arboretum Visitor Center rain or shine. Suggested donation $3. Call 747-1504 with any questions.

January 10, 1:00 PM.
"Spring Bloom in Chugach State Park, Anchorage, Alaska." The Emerald Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society invites the public, free of charge, to hear Loren Russell, a fine botanist, excellent photographer, and inspired speaker as he shares his love of native plants and beautiful scenery.
