May 17, Sunday, 10 am - 4 p.m. Wildflower Show at Mount Pisgah Arboretum. 19th annual spring show, with a display of every wildflower blooming in Lane County in spring (except rare and endangered species), prepared in conjunction with the Native Plant Society of Oregon - Emerald Chapter. Experts will be on hand to identify wildflowers brought in by show attendees. Also, guided nature walks, nature craft vendors, plant sale--includes native plants for the garden and choice items from member's gardens and local specialty nurseries, music, food, and fun for kids. May 18, Monday, 7:30 pm. "Native Plant Restoration in Alton Baker Park," a slide talk by Joseph Minato of Nearby Nature. Sponsored by the Native Plant Society of Oregon - Emerald Chapter. Free and open to the public. Room 109, Science Building, Lane Community College. F.M.I. 344-8377.

May 23, Saturday, 10 am - 1 pm. Nearby Nature's Alton Baker Park Action Project: Work Party. Turn up in work clothes and boots (good for rain if necessary); bring tools for native plant restoration, erosion control, trail crew, and litter patrol.
